With a price of 48,900 euros, the first units will arrive in March

 BMW has just announced the commercialization of the new Z4. A cabrio with two seats with a daring design, lighter compared to the previous generation and with a lower center of gravity. The range consists of three versions with the names sDrive 20i, SDrive 30i and the exclusive and powerful M40i with 340 horses.

The new Z4 incorporates a whole battery of technological elements. In addition, it releases the version of the operating system 7.0, the new graphics of the recent Series 8 and X5 and a connectivity of last generation. You can also equip the small Head-Up Display, with an identical size to the Series 7.

The hood is canvas, electric drive in all versions and opens in just ten seconds; It is possible to do it up to 50 km / h. The standard equipment includes the Connectivity package, with alarm, Live Cockpit Professional, Connected Package Professional, wireless charging, Wi-Fi hotspot and extended repair warranty for three years or 200,000 kilometers.



Inside, the seats are sporty and upholstered in the so-called Vernasca leather, with wind deflector, leather steering wheel, climate control, parking distance control, rain sensor and alloy wheels (larger in the M40i). The capacity of the boot, both with the hood open and closed, is 281 liters, a considerable increase of more than 50% compared to the previous Z4.

The exterior style reveals a new design language, with a series of characteristic details. This "roadster" equips the renewed grille of the grill with the classic kidney of BMW. The elongated hood features sharp, sharp arrow-shaped lines directed towards the front grille. Seen in profile, another character line starts from the air intake located behind the front wheel arches and ends above the rear wheel arches.


The range of engines includes a first mechanics of 197 HP for the sDrive20i, a second of 258 horses for the sDrive 30i and the powerful M40i with technology TwinPower of M Performance that generates 340 HP and a maximum torque of 500 Nm; accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds. The three units assemble the state-of-the-art eight-speed Steptronic Sport gearbox. All variants comply with the Euro 6d-TEMP emission standard.

The adaptive suspension, sports brakes and sports differential are standard on the Z4 M40i, along with higher performance tires housed in 18-inch alloy wheels. Also standard is the variable sport electric steering.

Other driver assistance systems are collision warning, collision and pedestrian warning with city braking function and lane departure warning system. The list of options includes active cruise control with Stop & Go function, distance information, lane change warning system, rear collision prevention and cross traffic alert, plus the Speed ​​Limit Info with no overtaking information and the Head -Up Display.
